All About Tsambika Beach

Tsambika Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Rhodes and a popular destination for excursion boats. The beach is well frequented but hardly crowded even in midsummer. On Tsambika beach, there are water sports, beach showers, sun loungers and umbrellas for hire, and several taverns and snack bars; you can play beach volleyball. Be careful, though, as the sand heats up quickly.

The turquoise waters and the soft sand make Tsambika Beach a perfect place to relax and soak up the Mediterranean sun. The beach is close to Lindos’s village, making it a convenient place to stop for lunch or dinner.
There are several restaurants and cafes in the area and a few shops selling souvenirs and beach supplies. If you’re looking for a quiet spot to sunbathe or swim, Tsambika Beach is definitely worth a visit.

Tsambika Beach is approximately 18 miles (30 kilometres) south of Rhodes City, the island’s capital. You will find a large, free parking area if you are driving. Alternatively, you can reach Tsambika by bus. If you don’t want to spend all day sunning by the sea, consider taking the short drive to the forest and lake of Seven Springs.

Tsambika Beach takes its name from the monastery of the same name, the upper part of which "Moni Tsambika" rises on the mountain directly above the beach. The monastery is known throughout Rhodes for its great shrine, the icon of the Virgin Mary.
